Tonight’s mystery artist’s American branch of their record label viewed there music as unfit for the radio play so they never released their album here in the states. Think you know who they are??

I found this little heard fact in NME about the punk rock band The Clash. The stuffed shirts at CBS who were the American subsidiary of the record company the band was signed with didn’t feel that American radio stations would play their music. Lucky for The Clash that didn’t stop their parent record company located abroad from importing the album to eager fans in the US. This more would grow to credit the Clash with the largest import for an album of all time.

Here they are in a rare live performance.
