Tonight’s mystery artists were the first band to pioneer surround sound during their concerts. Think you know who they are??

This tidbit comes in at number six on Buzzfeed’s list of mind melting fact about Pink Floyd. The device was called Azimuth Co-Ordinator quadrophonic sound system. During concerts sound engineer Richard Wright used joysticks to propel sound 270 degrees around the auditoriums they played beginning in 1967. By 1972 Pink Floyd had upgraded the system to create 360-degree surround sound.
