I have read on multiple occasions that it is good for your brain to keep learning new things and to spend good quality time with your friends. Like most of us I spend more time with the friends I work with than I do with my family but we can all get so busy we don’t hang out socially.  So how thrilled was I to get the chance to hang with my working peers and paint.

We had signed up for a class in Brewer called ‘Paint and Sip’, my sipping choice of course was Long Island Ice Tea, most everyone on else picked a nice wine…to each there own I always say. The classes are held for future reference at Generations Boutique on State Street in Brewer.

The gig is, you all do the same painting in acrylics and the instructor, for us Roxanne, takes you step by step until Voila! A painting is born. For me, some of the fun outside of the interesting conversations and the laughter that ensues when a group of women try to learn something new together, is how differently everyone’s painting turns out. I think that is why I always gravitate to reality TV that gives everyone the same challenge and in the end we see how their brain interpreted the concept.  No big surprise here mine had a bunny in it.

Thank you to my dear friends Cindy Campbell, Kathy Hardy, Katie Doak, Cheryl Oliver and Sabrina Colson, I had a blast, let’s do it again soon.
