I had such a great time this past Saturday at Blues, Brews & BBQ!  I especially enjoyed talking to all the performers and announcing all the great acts!  In between my stage duties and eating, which I did a lot of, I managed to shoot a couple of short videos and take some photos, hope that you enjoy them!

By the way, the short video above was shot in between sets from the stage.

The first photo is of the opening act, Stesha Cano and the Jerks.  After my intro, Stesha corrected me and called the name of her band "Stesha Cano and the Wicked Friggin' Jerks!  What a great local band!  Stesha has that sultry soulful kind of sound, and the band's version of the Allman Brothers classic "Whipping Post" was amazing!

Next up was Poke Chop and the Other White Meats!  Poke is quite the character.  He wore pointy white checkered shoes and a white top hat.  His down and dirty fuzz guitar sound gave the blues special meaning for us all!  This band is from Southern Maine and is AWESOME!

Mark "Guitar" Miller, voted the "Best Blues Guitarist In Maine" was up next!  Mark really related with the crowd and made his guitar literally sing during his long beautiful blues solos!  His is a Maine treasure!

The boys from Texas Flood were really cool!  They made the trip a little further up the Penobscot to the Sea Dog for a Maine lobster supper before the show.  After a few hard apple ciders they were ready to rock! The moment that these guys took the stage and started playing you knew that you were in for a thrill!  Tommy Kotona wailed on classics by Hendrix, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughn and others!

We certainly look forward to our second Blues, Brews & BBQ event that is almost certain for next year on the Bangor Waterfront!  And, you know it will be bigger than this year's!  Just imagine that!

Mark's dog, who slept under the stage for the majority of the event. A true roadie.
