Shooting Suspect At Large in Maine
Gardiner Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man suspected in an early morning shooting on Spring Street in Gardiner. 30-year-old Paul Nicholas Coyne is considered armed and dangerous and is believed to be a passenger in his girlfriend’s car.
Police say that a 26-year-old victim was shot in the leg at around 12:20am at 32 Spring Street and has been taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. He’s expected to recover from his injuries.
Coyne fled the scene and is suspected to be a passenger in a 2001 Silver Chevy Impala, with license number 6178TN. The Gardiner Police say the car is being driven by Coyne’s girlfriend. While he is considered armed and dangerous, police say that this is not believed to have been a random act and so they don’t believe the public is in danger.
The suspect (pictured above) is described as a white male, 5’10” tall, and 170 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has an address in Augusta, but is also known to frequent places in Waterville, Winslow, and Mercer.
Anyone with any information about Coyne’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Gardiner Police Department at 582-3211.
