Today is "Blue Shirt Day, World Day of  Bullying Prevention!"

It's a day where students and others will wear their blue shirts to drive awareness of anti bullying programs and STOMP Out Bullying around the world!

With the rise of the digital age the ramifications of bullying have increased significantly!  At times young people are put into embarrassing situations that are  filmed and posted on the web for all to see!

Here in the Bangor area the Central Maine Derby and Great Skates Entertainment Center have once again teamed up for the third annual "Skate Don't Hate - Skate Against Bullying Night!"  This event happens TONIGHT at Great Skates at 82 Sylvan  Road in Bangor between 5PM and 8PM! Admission is $6 for kids and adults, but if you  wear a blue shirt the cost gets knocked down to $3!

The family friendly event features food, fun, games, prizes and the kids chance to meet the roller derby players from Central Maine Derby and Katahdin Roller Kings!

Proceeds benefit Central Maine Derby's "Skate Don't Hate" program, STOMP Out Bullying and Project AWARE!  If you would like to request "Skate Don't Hate" at your school, visit www.centralmainederby.com!
