Travelocity is helping you plan your 'beercation.' Great news, you don't have to go out of state to find some top-notch brewskis. But you already knew that.

They put together a list of the best beer destinations in America. They call it their 'Travelocity Beer Tourism Index.' Certain criteria had to be met to be considered a great beer destination. Travelocity looked into the 'availability of rideshare services, accessibility via air and the average cost of lodging.'

Portland ranks among the Top 6 Large Metro Area destinations at #4. In the Small Metro Area category Bangor ranks at #11.

According to the Maine Brewers Association Maine now is home to 75 breweries, with more on the way.
