160 Foot Long Sandwich Could Have Set Record In Portland

Well, it's almost big enough to take out to camp.

A record could have been set this past Thursday morning in Portland's Monument Square, when eleven sandwich shops gathered together to produce what now was the world's largest Italian sandwich!  Only problem was that no one from the Guinness World Book of Records didn't show up.

Oh well, all in good fun, as the event was a kick-off to Portland's Harvest On The Harbor, and the spectators got plenty of good eatings!

Actually, the participants knew that no one from Guinness would be there, as the folks from the World Book of Records told them to go ahead and have a trial run and if successfully, pretty much guaranteed them that they'd show up next year.
