Already this week we've highlighted the most expensive house for sale currently in Maine, a $9 million, 14,275-square-foot beauty located on the shore of Blue Hill Bay with a heated swimming pool. We've also discovered a vintage farmhouse in the small town of Washington in Knox County, that for some odd reason has what resembles a jail cell on the second floor.

As of this writing, the lowest-priced house currently on the market in Maine is a 3-bedroom, 1-bath home with a two-car garage at 410 Main Street in Van Buren that's listed by NextHome Discover on Zillow for the bargain-basement price of $24,900.

Speaking of the basement, apparently, there was a recent fire in the basement of this home that left some smoke damage and the place without electricity.  But, once again, if the right person were to come along he or she could remodel and really make this nice little home into something, as it probably was at one point in the past.
