One Popular Southern Maine Business Closes While Another Opens

A very popular outdoor restaurant in Freeport closes up shop, while another iconic take-out in a beach community opens for the season.

The Azure Cafe on Route 1 in Freeport closed this past weekend when a lease agreement apparently could not be reached.  The popular indoor/outdoor cafe had served the shopping community with sandwiches, Italian and seafood dishes for over 17 years.

Meanwhile, a little further down I-295 and just steps from Maine's most popular beach, Lisa's Pizza in Old Orchard has opened for the season, serving up the pizza slices, onion rings and fried dough to the soon to be throngs of beach going tourists and Mainers alike.
