Album vs. Album: Fly Like An Eagle vs. The Grand Illusion [POLL]
The pressure is on! There's only ONE slot left in the 8-track tape case, and you can only choose one of the two! It's a very tough decision!
Fly Like an Eagle
Steve Miller BandFly Like An Eagle by the Steve Miller Band hit the record store shelves in 1977. Before that, most people had only heard one song by Steve Miller, The Joker. Fly Like An Eagle, the ninth album by Miller changed all of that. From the beginning of the album, the spacey opening of Fly Like An Eagle told the listener that they were in for something different! Other great songs included: Take The Money And Run, Rock'n Me, and Wild Mountain Honey. It is one of those albums that you know every song on it, by heart.
The Grand Illusion
StyxOur second album is The Grand Illusion by Styx! Released on July 7th, 1977, the record made in Chicago propelled the album rock band to stardom, with such great songs as Come Sail Away, Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man) and the title track itself. At the time, Styx had three fabulous singers, Dennis DeYoung, Tommy Shaw and James Young. This concept sounding 8-track tape blew many a 6 by 9 speaker.
