Augusta Police Investigating Robbery and Stabbing
Police in Augusta are investigating an aggravated assault and robbery that happened Sunday. Police say the victim received several injuries.
Lieutenant Kevin Lully said in a press release that the assault happened before three o'clock Sunday morning on Mt. Vernon Avenue in Augusta. The 29-year-old male victim reported that two unidentified white males approached him and demanded he hand over his property.
The victim said the suspects brandished a weapon and the three got into a scuffle. During that altercation, the victim received several non-life threatening injuries. the suspects ran, and the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Maine State Police brought in a K-9 but were unable to track the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the Augusta Police at 626-2370.
