Bangor Band Gears Up For A Fun Summer Season: See Where They’ll Be
New England's longest-running community band is gearing up to entertain crowds across the state, as they have for the past 164 years.
The Bangor Band kicked off their season on June 13th and has already played two concerts on the Bangor Waterfront.
Along with dates for future appearances on the Waterfront, the band is scheduled to place several special events this year.
Check the Bangor Band Facebook Page, and you'll see they have quite the schedule this summer.
This coming Saturday (the 24th) they'll be performing at RB Hall Day in Richmond.
Two weekends from now, they'll be making an appearance in Brewer-Bangor Four of July Parade.
And at the end of July, at the annual Chapin Park Block Party in Bangor.
While the lineup may change a bit from year to year, the entertainment they bring a crowd is consistent.
With a good mix of classics and some contemporary pieces, the Bangor band always rises to the occasion to provide great music to audiences youg and old.
There is one change this year that you might want to take note of.
According to WABI TV5, the band has a new conductor this year, Philip Edelman, and it's starting to expand.
“We have got lots of brand-new music, and I have to tell you that our new conductor, Philip Edelman, is being very well-received. We very much like him, and the band has grown to 75 members, we’re huge!”
