We're here to give you the skinny on what's happening out that way. So here it is:
There's a substantial project underway to construct an 8,900 square foot building that will ultimately become an office for long-time Maine-based Means Wealth Management at 861 Broadway.
"Founded in 1935 as a Maine Corporation, Means is among the oldest, most respected independent investment firms in Maine. David G. Means built this company on an unshakeable foundation of principled patience, honest integrity, and warm, personal service."
Means Wealth Management currently has an office at 802 Stillwater Avenue in Bangor, along with an office in Houlton and two in South Carolina.
Project directors appeared before the City of Bangor Planning Board on January 20th of this year to obtain a permit for the work.

The major site development plan includes the construction of a new building, along with additional parking, and the removal of a one-way exit off Broadway.
Andy Johnston, the principal and civil engineer at Atlantic Resource Consultants, explained that some of the structures on the property have been taken down, and some changes will be made that will reshape the traffic patterns around the final building.
The plans also include doing away with one of the three driveways that provide access to the area. They also plan to shift and raise some of the parking around the new structure to make it less treacherous and more ADA accessible.
The board unanimously approved the project in January, and work has already begun.
