It was not long after arriving at Kenduskeag Plaza in downtown Bangor that investigators were able to take a suspect into custody after a report of a vehicle fire, according to police.

"On April 12, 2022 at approximately 10:10 am, Bangor Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a parked vehicle on fire in Kenduskeag Plaza in downtown Bangor. Upon arrival, officers spoke to a male that had been near the vehicle. This male was identified as Thomas Daries, 37 years old with no permanent address."

Members of Bangor PD's Criminal Division got involved in the investigation, along with the State Fire Marshal's Office. After looking into the matter, and searching Daries' person, authorities arrested him. Daries was charged with arson and with possession of scheduled drugs and transported to the Penobscot County Jail.
