Lots Take Part In But Not Many Attended Bangor’s Veterans Day Parade
While the weather looked a little iffy for Bangor's 2024 Veterans Day parade on Monday, Mother Nature ended up cooperating and conditions were great for viewing.
As the entrants made their way from Brewer to Bangor, folks came out to honor the men and women who have served in our nation's military.
David from Brewer said, "The parade was an incredible representation of locals who have served, of those who are currently serving, and of those who aspire to serve one day."
Bangor's Liz Leavitt says she looks forward to this parade every year.
"It is my favorite parade, though, and it was pretty long. The weather was beautiful."
"There was one WWII vet."
"Very patriotic and the man in the chair in front of us was a vet and everyone was stopping to say thank you!"
Leavitt says that while the parade participants were very high in number, the number of folks attending was lacking more so than in years past.
"Not well attended for a parade, in my opinion. It was not well advertised. It was nearly impossible for the average person to get the deets. My mom said she scoured the city of Bangor web page and FB page and found nothing, which I think is a real miss and sad."
