It seemed like summer lost its way for a minute.

Our first 60+ degree day in the Bangor area in 2022 was back in February. It gave us all a lot of high hopes for what the spring and summer may have in store. And it even it kept the trend up for a bit, while we had a pretty mild spring. And then the heat kicked in for a bit, making us think summer was coming early. But then, you know, Mother Nature.

when Saturday and Sunday roll around, we'll be enjoying summer weather in the mid 80's and approaching the 90 degree mark.

She always steps in and messes with us, because Maine just doesn't have the clout with her that other places do, seemingly. the brakes got put on the warm weather, and we even saw nights dipping into the 40's, and The County was getting frost. Even on the first day of summer. That just ain't right.

This weekend, that all changes. At least for the weekend.

Starting tomorrow, temps are going to start trending upwards. Today we'll top out close to 70. Tomorrow we hit the mid 70's. But when Saturday and Sunday roll around, we'll be enjoying summer weather in the mid 80's and approaching the 90 degree mark. That will actually feel like a legit kickoff to summer.

What's also awesome, is that next week, the warmer temps are going to stick around for a minute. Maybe not quite to the level as the weekend weather, but we're going to stay in the low to mid 70's pretty much all next week, according to the National Weather Service. That ain't so bad.

It seems silly to get so excited, but we have such a limited window of nice weather that it's hard not to get a little antsy. There's always a little secret pressure on the inside to cram as much summer fun as we can into such a short window. But hey... that's just part of what makes us Mainers.
