Doughboys, french fries, funnel cakes and more.  Oh man, aren't we missing the fair food?

Why yes, yes we are!

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused the cancellation of one of Maine's best beloved summertime traditions from one end of the state to the other, our annual fairs.  One aspect of a fair that everyone looks forward to is the food that the vendors there offer up.  From Kettle Korn to lobster rolls, we just can't get enough.

But, it looks like we may be getting a little taste of fair food soon.

The Blue Hill Fair has recently posted to Facebook that the fairgrounds will be playing host to numerous food vendors there throughout the late summer, vendors that would have otherwise been set up at the Fair itself that runs every Labor Day weekend.

A few that have confirmed at this point include Yogi’s Concessions, which will be setting up August 14th and 15th. Giant Donut Boys, the weekend of August 29th, and King and Queen Fries over Labor Day weekend.  Blue Hill Fair organizers ask that you pack up your hunger and come to the Fairgrounds to support these vendors that are suffering financial hardship because of the loss of this summer's fairs.

Folks who've left comments on the Blue Hill Fair Facebook page are more than enthusiastic about this news, and have suggested such fair delicacies as strawberry shortcake, sausage & onions, loaded baked potatoes, lemonade, and cotton candy.

This is a GREAT idea and we only hope that more vendors set up within the Blue Hill Fairgrounds!
