Feels like a good night for a parade!

The Town of Bucksport will hold a "backwards" Christmas parade tonight, and the after this past weekend's big rain, snow and windstorm, it looks like the weather is going to cooperate, as just mostly cloudy skies are expected with temperatures at parade time expected to be around 30 degrees.

Like the City of Ellsworth's stationary parade this past Saturday, floats and other displays in Bucksport tonight will be lined along Main Street and will be stationary.  Spectators in cars will then slowly drive along Main Street from Central Street to School Street to observe all the holly-jollyness in the form of decorated floats and costumed characters on display.

If you're coming from the east, don't worry, a detour will take you up Mill Street to Franklin, and then down Mechanic Street to Main.

Sounds like a good time to us!

Parade floats and other displays and participants will begin lining Main Street at 5:45 or so, and cars with spectators will begin slowly driving down the then one-way Main Street at 6:30.  The backwards parade will be on display and Main Street in Bucksport will be one way for approximately one hour following that.

Awards for floats and other decorative displays will be given out following the backwards Christmas parade tonight LIVE via the Town Of Bucksport Facebook page.
