"Ellsworth Hikes & Walks" is the collaboration of two non-profit organizations; The Heart of Ellsworth (a group of local people committed to promoting all the cool things going on in the Ellsworth region) and the Maine Trail Finder (a free mapping website that encourages people to get outside and explore the world around them by showing them where they can go).

The site features 15 local locations where people can partake in some outdoor activities, including Meadowbrook Forest, Birdsacre Stanwood Wildlife Sanctuary, and the Downeast Sunrise Trail.

Along with descriptions and an integrated map, the resource links out to the different locations, if folks want even more information.

The descriptions often include details about accessibility, difficulty, length of trail, and what some might expect to encounter on the journey, should they choose that particular path.
