Want To Find A Good Path To Walk Or Hike Near Ellsworth? Check here!
Back in April of 2021, a couple of local groups joined forces to help folks find the best walking and hiking trails in the greater Ellsworth area. They did so by pooling their resources and knowledge and putting all of that info online.
"Ellsworth Hikes & Walks" is the collaboration of two non-profit organizations; The Heart of Ellsworth (a group of local people committed to promoting all the cool things going on in the Ellsworth region) and the Maine Trail Finder (a free mapping website that encourages people to get outside and explore the world around them by showing them where they can go).
The site features 15 local locations where people can partake in some outdoor activities, including Meadowbrook Forest, Birdsacre Stanwood Wildlife Sanctuary, and the Downeast Sunrise Trail.
Along with descriptions and an integrated map, the resource links out to the different locations, if folks want even more information.
The descriptions often include details about accessibility, difficulty, length of trail, and what some might expect to encounter on the journey, should they choose that particular path.
Whether you're looking for a new spot to explore with your dog, searching for a trail that gets you up close and personal with some local wildlife or want to find a place where you can sit and stare at the beautiful scenery, this site will hook you up with the hike that's right for you.
