Maine Sheriffs Investigate A Hit-And-Run In Dixmont
Authorities spent the Friday evening in the Maine town of Dixmont, as they tried to piece together who hit a pedestrian and left him alone on the side of the road, badly injured.
The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office says it was about 6:45 PM when they got a call that someone was hit on the Kennebec Road.
"Deputies and emergency medical services responded to the scene near the intersection of Kennebec Road and Hog Hill Road. A male was found lying on the side of the road in critical condition. It was clear from the man's condition and evidence found at the scene that he had been struck by a vehicle. The man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries."
Authorities hope someone was in the area at the time of the crash and saw something. They're imploring anyone who might have information about the incident to contact investigators.
