Dylan went electric, the Beatles grabbed a couple of girls off the street, Fleetwood Mac and the Ramones released iconic albums, and Vincent Furnier was born?  Who?

It was this night in 1966 that folkie Bob Dylan decided lay down the acoustic guitar and plug in for the first time on tour.  He had done so previously in the year prior at the Newport Jazz Festival. The Band would back him up for the tour which would be the first one that Dylan would use electric instruments for, and opening night was in Louisville, Kentucky.

On this day in 1968, the Beatles were working on the song Across The Universe at Abbey Road Studios in London when Lennon and McCartney decided they needed to add "falsetto harmonies."  So they grabbed a couple of girls from off the street.  They were 16 year old Lizzie Bravo and 17 year old Gayleen Pease.  Probably still the thrill of a lifetime for both!

"Hey Man", It was this day in 1972 that David Bowie recorded Suffragette City, it would be the last song recorded for his album The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars.

On this day in 1976, The Ramones released their debut album, and the cover would become one of the greatest of all time!

On this day in 1977, Fleetwood Mac released Rumours, an album of love turmoil that would go on to become the #8 best selling album of all time, selling over 20 million copies.

Alice Cooper was born on this day in 1948.  Born Vincent Furnier, The Godfather of Shock Rock recently played the Cross Center here in Bangor along with Motley Crue, and as far as I'm concerned, stole the show!  With a band that features three excellent guitarists and theatrics that would amuse any rock fan, Alice Cooper is the I-95 Artist of the Day!
