They were married on this day back in 1964, he was 31 and she was 18. She was tall, he was short, and she would always make fun of that fact.  Apparently after awhile, it finally pissed him off.

Salvatore Philip Bono married Cherilyn Sarkisian La Piere, they would soon become Sonny & Cher, and would go on to perform together for 12 years before going their separate ways. Cher, now 69, still tours from time to time and  is currently making a Broadway musical.  Sonny would eventually go into California politics before skiing into a tree and losing his life in 1998.  The tree was taller than he was too.

Simon Le Bon, the lead vocalist for Duran Duran, one of the more popular bands of the eighties, was born on this day in 1958. Simon and I have something in common, we both like girls on film.

Also born on this date back in 1979, Scott Weiland, the fine vocalist of Stone Temple Pilots. I have nothing in common with him, except that we both have a penis, I think.
