Dover Foxcroft Kiwanis Prepare For Their 73rd Auction This July
For over seven decades, The Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis Charities has been raising money for local kids by holding an enormous auction at the Piscataquis Vally Fairgrounds, and this year they're gearing up to do it again!
According to the organization, this year's event will take place over four days, Thursday, July 27th through Sunday, July 30th.
Organizers say that they've had so much donated already this year, that they're on track to have an even bigger event than last year.
"‘GOING ONCE “, GOING TWICE” ….SOLD !!!!! will ring out over the crowd as longtime favorite auctioneer (and Auction Chairman) Paul Davis with equally popular sidekicks Toby Nelson and Arne Halvorsen amuse the crowd with jokes and descriptions of “exciting items you just can’t live without”!!!
The Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis Summer Auction has been in existence for 73 years and is one of Piscataquis County’s most anticipated events –three nights of meeting up with old friends, a frenzy of bidding on bargains galore, great food, and a chance to help Kiwanis support the kids of our community through their many projects….just a “win-win” event for everyone involved."
Along with the auction itself, there are also there will be sections like the "Book Barn", "Bargain Barn", "Indoor Yard Sale" and "Fill A Bag" spots on the fairgrounds for folks to find more treasures.
Food trucks will be on-site, in case you feel the need to fuel up for your search.
And if you have something to donate to the cause, there is still time. You can drop off donations right at the Piscataquis Valley Fairgrounds each Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, and there will be a member of the Dover Foxcroft Kiwanis there to accept them. Or you can call Rita at (207) 270-0536 for pickup information.
