Ellsworth Fire Department Hires It’s First Full-Time Female Firefighter Ever

For the first time in the Department's history, a female has been put on the full-time payroll!

Yesterday the Ellsworth Fire Department announced via Facebook that two new employees have been hired.  One being Kate Joseph, who had been an volunteer on-call firefighter for both Northeast Harbor and Ellsworth.

Kate is joined by Tyler Isherwood, who has been part-time with the Department since 2015.

Both will become full-timers sometime in October, and we certainly congratulate each one!  Thanks for protecting and looking after our City!
