Tuesday Morning Crash In Glenburn Kills One, Sends Another To Hospital

One person is dead, another injured, following a crash between a small SUV and a pickup hauling an empty trailer that happened in Glenburn on Tuesday morning.

According to the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office, the crash took place about 10:15 AM at the intersection of Pushaw Rd and Route 221, also known as the Hudson Road. Dispatchers took a call that two vehicles had been involved in a serious collision, and deputies were immediately sent that way.

"When deputies arrived, they found a pickup truck hauling an empty trailer was traveling north on Route 221. A small SUV was traveling south before it turned left in front of the truck. The passenger in the SUV was transported to the hospital but was pronounced deceased during the transport. The driver of the SUV was transported with serious but not life-threatening injuries."

Authorities say the two individuals who were in the truck sustained minor injuries. EMTs treated them at the scene, and they were later released.

That intersection has been the scene of other accidents in the past.

The crash is still under investigation. A drone team assisted deputies at the scene, along with the reconstruction team. The Glenburn Fire Department was also on hand to help.
