People with pets will soon have a new place to get them groomed, as Pleasantly Pampered Pet grooming is set to open its doors September 1.

Located at 43 Colombia St, Unit 14, Pleasantly Pampered was created by Arizona native, Christina Buck, after she an her family moved to Maine this past spring. Buck, who has been in the pet grooming industry for the past seven years, started doing house calls when she got to Maine, but noticed that concerns about Covid-19 affected her business. Realizing there was a need for a stand-alone grooming facility in downtown, Buck says she began looking for locations to set up shop.

Specializing in "fear free" methods of grooming, Buck says the grooming process is tailored to each individual pet and owner's needs. "I have a very laid back and fun atmosphere. I'm a Fear-Free certified and AKC Safe groomer. That basically means that everything that I do is to reduce the stress in both the pets and the people...I don't have employees, it's just me. And I don't overbook myself, so I'm very focused, strictly on your pet."

Providing everything from a cut to a full bath, ear and nail services, Buck says the experience is about helping owners learn how to best take care of their pets.

Pleasantly Pampered Pet Grooming will have their grand opening Tuesday September 1. Buck says she plans to hold an open house, for the public to visit, on Saturday September 19.
