First Ever “Wings And Wheels Car Show” Scheduled For Old Town This June
If you enjoy car shows and donating to good causes, then there's an event coming up this summer that you're not going to want to miss.
Dewitt Field in Old Town will be the backdrop for the first-ever Wings and Wheels Car Show to benefit the Maine Veteran's Project and the Be The Match Donor Program.
The show will take place Saturday June 11th.
Registration will be held from 8 AM till Noon. An awards ceremony will take place later that afternoon at 3 PM.
While there's no admission cost to get into the show, they are accepting donations for both causes. There is, however, a $5 fee to enter your vehicle to be shown in the show.
The categories range from vehicles 1949 and older to 1980 and newer. There will be hot-rods, muscle cars, trucks, jeeps, foreign cars, and motorcycles. They're accepting anything with Wheels or Wings, essentially.
There will also be a People's Choice and Best of Show Category for attendees to vote in.
Event coordinators say there will be live music, food vendors, and a swap area during the car show. Smoke & Steel BBQ will have a portable ax-throwing booth at the event.
Folks from the "Be The Match" donor program will be on-site doing stem-cell donor swabbing.
The Wings and Wheels Car Show is sponsored by Gus's Barbershop and Luna Family Auto Sales, both long-time businesses from the Old Town area.
The Maine Veterans Program even hinted this week on their Facebook Page, the possibility of both the folks from Vacationland Skydiving involved.
Organizers say the expect at least a couple of hundred vehicles to take part in the show, and at least double that to attend the event.
