Get Ready Old Town–Spring Clean Up Is Coming Your Way Next Week
While many Maine towns started their curbside Spring Clean Up at the beginning of this month, it's Old Town's turn next month.
According to the City of Old Town's Facebook Page, the 2022 Old Town Annual Curbside Spring Clean-Up will take place Monday, June 6th through June 17th.
There are 2 categories of items the Old Town Public Works Department will pick up; White Goods and Bulky Furniture.
The City Of Old Town Website says:
"WHITE GOODS are defined as appliances: {stoves, refrigerators, freezers, A/C units, washers, dryers, and dishwashers}. Note: Doors must be removed from all refrigerators and freezers."
"BULKY FURNITURE is defined as Box spring and Mattresses, Dining tables and chairs, Stuffed chairs sofas, dressers, etc…"
Personal electronics such as computers, televisions, printers and the like will not be collected curbside.
For Old Town citizens who are looking to get rid of electronics or hazardous waste, such as adhesives, glues, resins, car batteries, pesticides, and swimming pool chemicals, to name a few, there will be an opportunity to do so.
There will be a Hazardous Waste Collection Event on June 11th from 8 AM to 12 PM at the Recycling Center located at 246 Gillman Falls Avenue in Old Town. They do require proof of residency, so be ready to present that.
There is no need to call Public Works to collect items you place curbside if they meet the criteria, as the crews will be coming around to pick these things up automatically.
If you have any questions, you can call (207) 827-3974.
