Girl Scout Parents: The Unsung Heroes of Cookie Season
I was cruising around online yesterday, and I came across a photo on a friend's Facebook page that showed a garage full of Girl Scout Cookies. So many that in thew photo, their car is almost completely obscured by the mountain of sugary deliciousness. That's not just for one scout, but still...look at all those cookies!!
We hear stories everyday through our friends or social media, about all the creative ways Girl Scouts sell their cookies. I've heard of people advertising on Craigslist, or taking it to the streets for some unique guerilla tactics.
But after looking at this photo, I feel like someone has to give a shout out to all the moms and dads out there who help their kids out this time every year. If they're not taking orders from co-workers, they're driving their daughters around the neighborhood to get more customers.
Granted, like I said, that's all the cookies for a whole group of scouts. But that delivery is in one parent's garage. And that one parent will get with all the other parents, and together, they will continue in one of the finest traditions that scouting offers....a chance for parents to spend quality time with their kids, doing quality work that makes people happy.
But what I really wanna know is, where my Thin Mints at?!
