Authorities believe a motorcycle was traveling north along Route 15 and was hit by a passenger car traveling in the opposite direction when that vehicle went to turn into the store's parking lot in front of the motorcycle.
"The operator of the motorcycle, Andrew Adams (61) of Glenburn was transported to Northern Light Medical Center in Bangor where he later was pronounced deceased.
The operator of the passenger car, Jonathan Hendre (40) of Hudson, did not sustain injuries. Passengers Sarah Saltzman (40) and her (6) year old daughter were not injured as well."
The road in that area was shut down for quite some time as folks from the Penobscot Sheriff's Department and the Glenburn Fire Department worked to figure out what happened and clean up the aftermath.
The Sherrif's Office is asking anyone who may have been traveling along Route 15 around 9 PM Tuesday, and who might have information about the crash, to call the Criminal Investigation Division at 947-4585, as the investigation is still ongoing.
