Not to be judgie but I am pretty sure it is stupid and that any Fire Marshall would agree.

And I agree with the poster, I have so many questions and just as many suppositions. 1, I imagine this is an apartment, 2, I imagine that the owner lives out of state and 3, I can't imagine anyone from the fire department has witnessed this little bit on convenient ingenuity.
