A joint effort by the US DEA, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Penobscot County Sheriffs, Maine State Police, and the Hampden Police Department resulted in a substantial drug bust and 3 arrests this week.

According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, authorities had been investigating a residence on Ruth Avenue in Hampden for some time, stating that undercover agents were able to buy both Fentanyl and Cocaine from the house.

Tuesday, members of several law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant on the place.

"Over the past several months, MDEA’s North Central Task Force, along with the Hampden Police Department, have been investigating a group responsible for the distribution of fentanyl and crack cocaine from a Ruth Avenue home in the Town of Hampden, Maine. During the search warrant, investigators seized a .45 caliber handgun, approximately 80 grams of crack cocaine, 200 grams of fentanyl and approximately $10,000 in cash suspected to be the proceeds from drug sales. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $42,000."

They arrested 31-year-old Dawayne Henry, 31-year-old Andy William Pacheco, both of Springfield Mass, and  37-year-old Jessica Bell of Hampden.

All 3 individuals were scheduled to make their first appearance in court on Wednesday. The press release said authorities expected to make more arrests in connection with this case in the near future.
