Hampden Gears Up For 41st Children’s Day Festivities Saturday
It's a day full of kid-centered activities, complete with food trucks, music, a parade, and ice cream!
For over 40 years, the folks in Hampden have been celebrating a day dedicated to kids with their annual Hampden Children's Day festivities.
Like many activities over the last two years, the Hampden's Children's Day Festivities were canceled both in 2020 and 2021, due to Covid.
But this year it's making a triumphant return!
According to the Hampden Children's Day Facebook Event Page, the events will begin with a pancake breakfast at 7 in the morning and will conclude with the fireworks at 9:00 in the evening.
"This is a FREE event, open to the public, held at Weatherbee Elementary school. The day starts with a parade, followed by a bunch of free activities at Weatherbee and we end the day with a live band and fireworks!"
Bring your appetite because there will be a number of food trucks on hand that day including JJ's Jerk Shack, CraveME, Poppie's Kettle Korn, Blue Smoke BBQ, Little Red Snack Shack, and Witham's Ice Cream.
Organizers of Hampden Children's Day say the event is made possible by local sponsors. They are also still in need of a few volunteers. If you are interested in donating some time, you can sign up here.
The Weatherbee School is located at 22 Main Rd North in Hampden.
And just as a heads up, event planners want you to know that all children attending the Hampden Children's Day festivities must be accompanied by an adult, And while service dogs are allowed, all other pets are prohibited from school grounds.
