One of the most frustrating issues Mainers have ever had with deli meats and cheeses has been solved by Hannaford Supermarkets.

We've all been there. We get home from Hannaford with our groceries, all excited to make a sandwich with the freshly sliced deli meat and cheese we picked up. After grabbing the bread and spreading the mayo or mustard on it, we go to grab that deli bag filled with goodness and end up tearing a hole in it when we try to pull the sticker off. Now we have no choice but to jam into an undersized Ziploc bag in an effort to keep it fresh. Well, worry no more!

Hannaford has listened and they have come up with a new sticker that I recently found on my Wunderbar Bologna, which by the way I highly recommend if bologna is your thing. Seriously. It's not just for kids you know.

The new deli stickers have been redesigned to no longer tear a hole in the bag, and the fix is really pretty simply. The sticker has a zipper! Just peel here...

The perforated strip in the middle neatly tears the sticker in two

And separates itself leaving no hole in the bag!

Pretty brilliant!

I shop at several Hannaford's and haven't seen the new stickers at all of them yet, but I'm pretty sure they'll be showing up where you shop if they haven't already.

Thank you Hannaford Supermarkets! We've had enough stress in 2020. Tearing a hole in our deli bags is one we can now check off our list of grievances.
