Two Found Dead At West Bath Home After Welfare Check Monday

Maine's top investigators are looking into the details surrounding the deaths of a man and a woman, both in their 70s, in West Bath this week.

According to the Maine Department of Public Safety, Deputies with the Sagadahoc County Sheriff's Department found the pair during a welfare check at a residence at 98 State Road in West Bath.

A concerned call came into the department, and they went to follow up on it just after 10:30 on Monday.

"Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased adult male and a deceased adult female at the residence. The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit – Central detectives and Evidence Response Technicians responded to assist with the investigation. The deceased have been identified as 77-year-old Carolyn Harris and 75-year-old Kevin Harris, both of West Bath."

Both bodies were taken to Augusta, where the Chief Medical Examiner will try to figure out how the Harrises died. An autopsy is expected to take place this week.

While the investigation continues, authorities say they don't believe there's a threat to the pubic at this time.
