Help Us Break Our Record And Celebrate 20 Years Of ‘Ton Of Pasta’
Let's face it; it's a really strange time to be alive right now.
But one thing that helps people feel better, and makes sense out of life, when life seems as strange as it has lately, is to help. Helping friends and neighbors is a great way to make a positive impact on this world. And there's a great opportunity to do just that, in such a simple way, coming up next weekend.
On Saturday, March 12, Townsquare Media will celebrate 20 years of teaming up with local organizations like Penquis, to restock community food cupboards. After the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, shelves tend to go bare, quickly. But the need for help never goes away. We want to make sure there is food available to everyone in our community who needs access to it.
That's where you come in.
As in years past, we'll be sending our DJs out to set up in front of local Hannaford stores to collect donations of pasta, on the morning of the 12th. Our goal each year is to collect "A Ton of Pasta. But last year, you helped set a record! You donated almost 7 tons of pasta (12,787 lbs to be exact) to help feed those in need around us.
We know that just one box of pasta can usually feed an entire family, so just imagine how many families in Maine a donation like helped.
We'll have teams set up from 9 AM till noon at the Broadway, Bangor Mall, Old Town, Brewer, and Ellsworth Hannaford Stores. So stop by, bring the kids, bring your friends, say hello, take a selfie even! And if you can, either on your way in or on your way out of the store, consider making a donation of a box or two of pasta.
Help us help others, and help yourself feel good too, in the process.
