With Memorial Day weekend in the rearview mirror, the unofficial official start of summer is behind us here for 2022 and the season is just kicking off. One event we here in the Bangor area truly look forward to is celebrating the day dedicated to appreciating our nation, Independence Day.

Bangor likes to go big with their fireworks and people from all over the area converge to the banks of the Penobscot, the valley that surrounds it, and the hills that border it to watch the dusk sky light up with a half-hour show of exploding lights that sizzle and crack as they ignite and die.

Independence Day in Bangor isn't just about the fireworks. Here's a quick rundown of the events scheduled for Bangor's July 4th celebration by Bangor's July Fourth Celebration Committee.
