Here’s What Those New Yellow Markers On Maine Power Line Poles Are Being Used For
They've been magically appearing now for a few weeks.
In a press release, Emera Maine explains that the company has been "installing pole number tags and recording the GPS location of poles bearing electricity distribution lines throughout the Bangor Hydro District, including private poles and poles owned by other utilities."
Customers will now be able correctly ID a power line pole when reporting a downed power line or power outage, which will improve the company's response time to situations. The tags can now also be used when requesting new service.
Contractors with Davey Resource Group are carrying employee badges and attaching the new yellow tags to the poles.
Emera Maine customers may contact the company’s Customer Contact Center at 207-973-2000, or 1-855-363-7211. You can monitor current outages at their website.
