Hey Maine, Can I Interest You In A Refreshing ‘Pickle Pop’ This Summer?
When we were little, it was the second best thing (or maybe the first in your book, it all depends) next to an ice-cold cup of water on a hot day.
I'm talking about the syrupy-sweet, frustratingly near-impossible-to-open, freezer pop, or ice pop, or flavor ice. No matter what you called it, if you didn't consume your body weight in that unnaturally colored frozen sugar water, your summer was not complete.
Now, while we may not all agree on what flavors the different colors represented, we can probably all agree that "Pickle" was not one of the usual offerings in any pack, whether it was name-brand or discount.
Likely the creation of a pregnant woman's cravings (having been one 4 times over, I can attest to liking this idea way more when harboring a life inside of me than almost a decade later), believe it or not, Pickle-Ice pops are an actual thing. You can even buy them on Amazon!
According to the creators of the Pickle-Ice, a company that specializes in pickle things, Van Holten's Pickles, this tart treat may actually have some benefits for you!
"Simply put Pickle-Ice is the same brine in our pickles with additional electrolytes added. It’s a refreshing treat on a hot day and an athletic supplement that helps rehydrate and prevent cramps."
What's more is you can buy Pickle-Ice in bulk! It's totally worth reading the reviews, however, as people have very strong opinions on whether or not this product lives up to the hype!
Now, if you're a pickle fan, this is something you're likely pretty excited about. If you're not, just imagine the fun you could have if you offered these as snacks, without explanation, at your kid's next pool party!?
Just a thought. You're welcome, in advance, for the parade of entertaining faces that's bound to result in that!
