The  Consumer Product safety Commission has received reports that these chargers can cause shocks and smoke.

The chargers in question were sold in store and on-line at Targets in the US.Recall

Their details state:

This recall includes the heyday 3 Foot Lightning USB charging cables. The cables are used to charge cellphones and other electronics that use lightning connector charging cables. The metal charging cable is purple, green and blue iridescent. The word “heyday” is printed on the cable’s connector. The model number 080 08 8261 is printed on the side of the product’s packaging.

They are advising anyone who has this particular Heyday charger to stop using it immediately and return it to your nearest Target store for a refund. 14 reports have bee made to Consumer Reports of burnt fingers, smoking cables and the cables sparking of igniting. The products in question were sold by Target between June 2018 and January 2019. See complete report here.
