The American Meteor Society says it's received many reports of a huge fireball in the sky over the Northeastern U.S., and one Portland Police Officer caught it on video!

According to the AMS, it's already received over 160 reports of a fireball event just before 2:00 Tuesday morning, May 17th. The sightings have mainly come from Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, but it was also seen in Quebec, and Ontario.

In Portland, a Police Officer was looking for speeders when he caught a huge flash in the sky on video. And what followed the flash is one of the coolest things I've ever seen!
