Bangor PD Charges Man Who Hit 2 Parked Vehicles Wednesday With OUI
Bangor Police say a man who hit two parked vehicles and flipped his car in Bangor Wednesday was driving under the influence.
According to authorities, the first crash happened on Broadway, near St. Joseph's Hospital, at around 3:15. Dispatchers received reports of a vehicle driving erratically. The vehicle ran into a car that had been parked along the road on Broadway.
As the police rushed to respond to the scene of the accident, the man drove off.
The driver, whose name has not yet been released, then attempted to make his way to Center Street, attracting the attention of more witnesses who reported his behavior to authorities.
He drove down Center Street, ultimately running into a large equipment trailer that was parked along the road, as crews from a local lawn care service were working on a property.
The impact of that crash destroyed the back end of the trailer and sent the car flying through the air. It landed on its roof in the middle of the road, causing traffic to become backed up for a bit.
Kody Doak, owner of Doak's Lawncare and Service, whose trailer was damaged in the impact, says, "I'm just thankful that no one was seriously hurt from the accident. I also appreciate the quick response from the Bangor Police and Fire Department."
Bangor Police say the driver was taken to a nearby hospital to be evaluated, and was later charged with Leaving The Scene Of An Accident, Driving To Endanger, and Operating Under The Influence.
No one else was injured in connection with this incident.

Authorities say since the investigation is ongoing, they have no more information to release at this time. We will update the story as information becomes available.
