Single lane closures will occur during the inspection.

The Maine Department of Transportation announced today that inspectors will begin their work on the 2505 foot-long structure that carries vehicles over over Eggemoggin Reach on Monday, April 29th.  Work could continue until May 24th.

"The inspection work will require alternating single lane closures with flaggers from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. TranSystems of Boston is consulting with MaineDOT on this project, according to today's press release.

The Deer Isle Bridge opened back in 1939, and at it's highest point reaches 85 feet.
