24-Hour Shopping Will Return to L.L. Bean in Freeport, Maine
No matter where in Maine you grew there is a good chance that you remember hearing about how iconic Freeport's LL Bean flagship store was.
As a kid growing up in Northern Maine, I remember being amazed when I heard that the store was open 24-hours a day. In Aroostook County, the only businesses we had open later than 7 PM were bars, truck stop diners, and convenience stores. As a kid, the idea that you could go to a store and buy a monogrammed backpack, winter boots, and a bow at 2 AM was mind-blowing to me.
Sadly, during the pandemic, all of that started to change. With almost no one shopping in-person, and the business seeing more online shopping, it only made sense that they end their practice of being open 24-hours a day.
Now, it looks like that tradition of being open 24/7 is about to return to the iconic chain's flagship store!
LL Bean's Grand Re-Opening Event
Following a $50 million renovation, the Freeport flagship store will celebrate their grand re-opening with an entire month of events.
The part will run from September 18th through October 25th.
One of the major events will be a Friday night kickoff concert featuring country artist Kip Moore!

With the ribbon cutting event, which was held earlier this week, the store has brought back it's tradition of being open 24/7!
