Augusta Police are investigating a fatal collision between a commercial vehicle and a sedan that happened early Thursday morning.

Maine Man Was Killed in a Collision on Route 3 in Augusta

Cameron Lafleche, 29, of Winslow, died in the crash that happened on Route 3 in Augusta.

The other driver, Christopher Armstrong, 29, of Washington, Maine, was not reported to have been hurt.

Augusta, Maine Fatal Crash Involved a Sedan and a Commercial Dump Truck

Augusta Police responded to the area of Route 3 and West River Road in Augusta at approximately 5:53 am on Thursday.

When they arrived, they found two vehicles that had collided: a Kenworth T880 commercial vehicle, driven by Armstrong, and a Toyota Camry, driven by Lafleche.

According to the Kenworth company's website, a T880 is a dump truck.

Mr. Lafleche was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officials have not released any further details.

Augusta Police are working with a reconstruction team from the Maine State Police to determine how the crash happened.
