Popular Beer in Maine Announces Upcoming Name Change
Folks in Maine who reach for a 12-pack of this iconic light beer will soon be calling it by a different name!

Listen, Mainers are easy-going folks who know how to handle rocky roads and roll with the punches. But if you mess with our beer, well, let’s just say you’re bound to see a few raised eyebrows!
This is the time of year when marketing professionals and brands pull out all the stops to go viral.
We could call this time of year the 'Super Bowl of marketing and branding'—which is ironic, considering so much effort is focused on the Super Bowl itself and the millions tuning in for the big game.
So, which popular beer that Mainers love has announced it will be changing its name, and what is it changing to?
Coors Light is rebranding as 'Mondays Light' to help ease the pain of the Monday after the Super Bowl, often referred to as the 'worst Monday of the year.' The limited-edition 12-pack, featuring the new name, is set to be available in Maine stores and nationwide starting this month.
On Wednesday, January 15th, 2025, Coors Light announced that it is temporarily rebranding its name to ‘Mondays Light.’
The light beer company recently made headlines with ads, including one in The New York Times and a Times Square billboard, that misspelled 'refreshment' as 'refershment,' blaming the error on having a ‘case of the Mondays.’ Now, you can pick up a 'case of the Mondays.'
There you have it! The beer changing its name is Coors Light, temporarily rebranding as ‘Mondays Light.’
