Woman Arrested for Walking Into a Stranger’s Brewer, Maine Home

A woman found sleeping last week in someone else's Bangor home is facing new charges for drinking coffee in a stranger's home in Brewer.

Brewer, Maine Police Arrest Levant Woman for Trespassing in Brewer Home

Darcelle Howard, 55, of Levant is facing new charges in Brewer after an incident on August 25, 2026.

Brewer Police were dispatched to conduct a welfare check on North Main Street.

When they arrived, the officers spoke with a male witness who said a woman had gone into a residence without permission.

The officers entered the home and found Darcelle Howard inside, drinking coffee.

Levant, Maine Woman Faces Charges for Allegedly Entering a Stranger's Brewer House

She was taken into custody without incident and charged with:

• Burglary
• Criminal trespass
• Violation of conditional release

Howard was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.

Woman Found Drinking Coffee in a Brewer, Maine Stranger's House Has a History of Trespassing Charges

This is the latest in a string of bizarre instances involving Howard trespassing in other people's homes.

On August 20, 2026, a Bangor man returned to his Union Street home and found Howard sleeping in his bed.

The homeowner said he had neglected to lock the door to the house when he went to work.

After the Bangor arrest, a property manager contacted the police and said she was allegedly the woman who had entered a building, where she was not a resident, on August 11th, 2026.

Howard had allegedly defecated on a rug in the entryway and taken some clothing.
