Two people are facing charges after a drug investigation in an Ellsworth rental room.

Ellsworth, Maine Police Arrest 2 with Fentanyl and Crack Cocaine

Police have identified the suspects in this investigation:

  • Darrell Thurston, 55, of Trenton
  • Alyssa Powell, 35, identified as a transient.

Both suspects were in a room, rented by Powell, that was searched by the police.

Ellsworth Police responded on Sunday to a report of suspicious activity taking place in and around a room in a local short-term rental facility.

Officers were able to make contact with Powell and her companion, Thurston. During this encounter, illicit drugs were recovered.

Police then secured and executed a search warrant on the rental room.

Seized in that search were:

  • 110 grams of suspected fentanyl powder
  • 85+ grams of suspected cocaine base (crack cocaine)

Both suspects were taken into custody. Powell had been arrested on outstanding warrants and was additionally charged with trafficking in Schedule W drugs, aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs, and violation of conditions of release.

Thurston was arrested and charged with trafficking in Schedule W drugs and aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs.

This investigation is ongoing and more charges may be pending.
