It's not uncommon these days to hear about mass closures affecting businesses, and unfortunately, that trend shows no signs of slowing down. As we move into 2025, it seems these challenges will continue to shape communities and industries alike.
With that in mind, which fabric store chain with several locations in Maine is preparing to shutter stores across the country in 2025?
JOANN Fabric and Crafts has recently announced plans to close several store locations across the United States, including in Holyoke, Massachusetts, and Ithaca, New York, as part of a routine evaluation of store performance. At the same time, the retailer has opened new stores in Great Falls, Montana, and Maplewood, Minnesota, and completed remodels in other locations. However, Joann has not disclosed details about additional closures or plans for new openings and remodels in the future.

The craft retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2024 and has since made leadership changes while continuing to operate around 850 stores nationwide.
